BrighterShop Au108 Software Provides FileMaker Pro 11 Compatibility Plus Numerous New Features for Australian Retailers

New version provides more control plus receipt printer and cash drawer support

Australian company, Ambrite Pty Ltd, has announced the availability of BrighterShop Au108, a new version of the popular Mac and PC retail point-of-sale software.

This version introduces compatibility with the newly released FileMaker Pro 11 plus new features requested by customers and enhancements to broaden its appeal to a wide range of retail stores. New hardware support provides new receipt printing and cash drawer options.

Custom-designed for Australia, BrighterShop provides an ideal software solution for shop owners to provide a fast and flexible point of sale terminal and control over retail business operations.

FileMaker Pro 11 Compatibility

BrighterShop Au108 provides compatibility with, and benefits from, the new features in the recent release of FileMaker Pro 11. The new Quick Find capabilities allows BrighterShop users to quickly and simply search and retrieve retail store data and to re-use searches at the click of a button. Users can also build tables to contain dynamic professional-quality charts (pie, bar, area, and line), empowering users to visualise, evaluate and report on shop sales, purchase history or any other data.

New BrighterShop Au108 Features

In addition to FileMaker Pro 11 compatibility, BrighterShop Au108 incorporates a number of new features implemented in response to customer requests.

    • Automatically start sale search for faster addition of Items to Sales using barcode scanners
    • Support for high-speed receipt printer and automatic cash drawer
  • Performance Increases for Stores with Over 10,000 Items
    • Optimisation to manage searches of very large item databases
    • Extended on-line help system

Managing Consignments

In addition to the features listed above, BrighterShop Au108 has been enhanced for customers using the system for Consignment transactions. Consignment transactions require the system to keep track of goods provided to the store on consignment and to effectively track payments to Consignors. The new version allows unlimited Items per Consignment and allows checkout operators to optionally handle payments to Consignors.

Additional Hardware Support for Checkouts

Receipt printerBrighterShop Au 108 provides support for the Star Miconics TPS100U thermal receipt printer and optional support for auto-opening cash drawers. This printer provides for attractive, compact receipt printing at high speed to maximise productivity at the checkout without compromising the quality of the customer’s receipt. The cash drawer can automatically open, triggered by the printing of the receipt, so that the operator can effectively manage cash without the need for manual intervention. These features, combined with the existing barcode scanner support, deliver a highly productive checkout system with the ability to handle high-volume customer traffic.

BrighterShop Au is the result of a two-year development collaboration between US-based developer Rob Costin of BrighterData and Mark Richards of Ambrite Pty Ltd to customise the BrighterShop retail point of sale software system for Australian retail regulatory and market conditions. Any retail business that purchases or consigns and tracks stock and makes sales to customers at one or more checkouts can utilise BrighterShop Au. BrighterShop runs on any Mac or Windows computer with FileMaker 10 or 11 installed.

Pricing and Availability

Customers with current annual support can download and install BrighterShop Au108 at no charge from www.brighterdata.com/AU/download.html. Customers whose annual support has expired can download the new version and purchase annual support from Ambrite for $198 inc GST* to activate. New Customers can purchase a BrighterShop Au108 license for a price of $1540 inc GST*. As an alternative for new customers, an Annual License Rental option is available.
